Ice, water and colours interact to create beautiful sights for the eyes and dream subjects for photographers. There is rarely a winter without nearby opportunities for winter activities on skis and skates. If you prefer a town winter without skis there is room for great experiences. Enjoy shopping and sightseeing in Larvik, Sandefjord and Tønsberg accomplished with a concert in the evening and a great meal from one of our restaurants. For nature lovers you will find the view to the horizon right outside the town centre.
Færder National Park and World’s End is accessible also during winter. The winter landscape covering the archipelago is beautiful and different. The visitor centre at Færder is open from Thursday to Sunday.
Art and Museums
In Haugar Art Museum, right in the heart of Tønsberg, you can experience great art in the permanent and current exhibitions. Preus Museum offers visitors many exciting experiences within the expanded field of photography: from the earliest technical and scientific experiments to modern photographic art that has pushed back the boundaries of what a photograph can be. Here are other museums and galleries worth a visit.
The main ice skating facility in Sandefjord is in Bugårdsparken. Bugårdsparken is a play and activity area all year round and is about two kilometres from the town centre. Facilities here include a hiking trail around Bugårdsdammen, a children's play area, swimming hall and skating rinks for ice hockey and speed skating. You need to bring your own skates.

New this year: In Larvik you can go ice skating at Larvik square.
In Horten square there are ice skating with background music and lights.
