Local tasteful food

As homegrown and locally produced food is more in demand than ever before, it´s good to know that Larvik is called the archard of Norway and can show off some 123 km of coastline, several lakes and a river well known for salmon fishing.

Several of the regional food producers are traditional farmhouses, and 25 % of all Norwegian vegetales are produced in Vestfold county. Cod from the Larvik fjord, and crawfish from the waters close to the idyllic Svenner islands, are examples of exquisite sea food of localorigin.

North of Larvik the Lågen river winds through some exciting scenery. Local dishes from the Lågen Valley like salmon, elk, beaver, mushroom, game and local variations of berries will give you a taste of wilderness.
