Stavern is the second town in the greater Larvik municipal area, but in the summer it becomes the primary town in many ways. During the summer holidays the town's population is multiplied by 7, and most of the visitors return year after year to this artistic haven on the coast.

Well protected behind the Stavern Island lies the Stavern Harbour, without a doubt the Larvik districts largest small boat and guest marina. Here you will find everything you would expect from a modern marina including lifeboats, shops, restaurants, a bakery, fish market and more than 150 mooring docks for visitors.

That the weather gods generally smiles down on Stavern during the summer make it a favourite holiday destination for both meteorologists and sun seekers.

Experience art and summer cabarets, enjoy a seafood dinner, soak up the sun or let the history of the 19th century shipyard at Fredriksvern Verft seep in. Stavern has it all!

Population: ca 5 700.
