The Coastal Path in Stavern

On the coastal path between Stavern and Helgeroa there is 35 kilometres signposted coastal path. Walk along rocky shores, sandy beaches, shallow bays and different types of woods.

From Stavern you go straight on the coastal path

You can start your trip with a historic walk through Fredriksvern fortress. You then walk up to Minnehallen “Hall of Remembrence” overlooking the sea. Minnehallen is a national monument of Norwegian sailors and is built like a pyramid. Minnehallen is open during the summer season, all year round, you can enjoy great views from here.


Walk towards Rakke - accessible also by wheelchair.


By Naverfjorden the camping sites are lined up with endless sandy beaches. Once you have passed Naverfjorden, the area Normanbo is the place for beautiful sunsets.


Nevlunghavn is a charming fishing village. Discover fishing boats and sailboats, small white houses and views of the Skagerrak sea. From Nevlunghavn there are approximately 2.5 kilometres to Mølen.

Mølen for many is a popular destination, both in good and bad weather. Mølen is part of the UNESCO European Geopark. There are several rocks to explore for those interested, you can find over 100 different rocks.

In Stavern centre it is easy to find a parking lot.


Take the bus to Stavern and the coastal path

Line 01 runs from Horten, Tønsberg, Sandefjord and Larvik to Stavern. You can find the timetables at

If you only want to go parts of the coastal path, you can do this by using the bus. Line 208 serves both Nevlunghavn and Helgeroa and drives you to Larvik. From Helgeroa you can also use Line 206 which runs to Stavern and Larvik.
