Woodland walks at your own pace
Marumskogen has a mixture of broad forest tracks and narrower trails through deciduous and coniferous woodland. Paths connect areas including Store Bergan, Marum and Jåberg, giving you several options for shorter circular walks as well as longer hikes. Along the way, you will pass small streams, gently rolling woodland and open views towards the surrounding farmland.

    Discover the Istrehågan burial site
One of the highlights of Marumskogen is Istrehågan, a protected archaeological site on the boundary between Sandefjord and Larvik. The burial ground includes several stone settings, two of them shaped like ships. Finds from the graves have been dated to AD 400–600.
The standing stones occupy an open hilltop surrounded by woodland. Allow time to explore the site and learn about the people who lived here during the Iron Age. The burial ground is protected, so respect the monuments and follow the rules displayed on site.

Places to stop along the way
Møllerodden and Skerråsen are two possible destinations within the woodland. Near the green bridge in the southern part of the illuminated trail, there is a recreation area beside a stream. A designated fire site and natural play opportunities have also been described here. Skerråsen offers another destination, with views from the southern hills of the forest. Bring a picnic and check local fire regulations before using any fire site.
