Verdens Ende - “The World’s End”

Verdens Ende “The World’s End” is located outside Tønsberg in Færder National Park. Verdens Ende is 1 of 5 “World’s Ends” in the world. Here you get majestic views to the horizon. Verdens Ende is probably best known for Vippefyret, built by pepples from Tjøme's beach in 1932.

How to get to Verdens Ende

By bus: From Tønsberg use Line 02 (Hvasser) to Sundene. There you switch to Line 022. The bus takes you all the way to Verdens Ende. You can find timetables and travel planner on or call 177.


By car: From Tønsberg town it takes approx. 30 minutes by car. Follow the signs to Tjøme and Verdens Ende. At Verdens Ende there are several parking lots. It is easy to reach Verdens Ende for young, old and disabled.


By boat: The ferry boat "Færdercruise" departs from the harbor in Tønsberg to Verdens Ende every day during summer.

Recreation area with a fantastic view of Skagerrak, fishing spots and skerries

There are excellent bathing conditions, especially for children, with a separate child-friendly swimming area. There is also a bathing platform designed for disabled people.

You can also visit Verdens Ende when the weather is really bad. The sea goes white on the outside, when the waves hit the skerries, and Færder lighthouse and its lightning glow will make the visit an experience. But please be careful and make sure to stay safe.

Here you can go for fun walks on the rocky mountains with possibilities for swimming and fishing along the way.


Færder National Park Visitor Centre

Verdens Ende is part of the Færder National Park. In the Visitor Center you will find a shop, in addition you can visit the exhibition. The exhibition consists of a digital exhibition showing life under water. On the 2nd floor you can enjoy panoramic views of the national park. There are also organized guided tours.

Verdens Ende Spiseriet

At Verdens Ende Spiseriet you will have amazing views of the archipelago, Vippefyret and the horizon. Good food and drinks can be enjoyed both inside and outside. In addition to the large patio there is room for 85 guests inside. Verdens Ende Spiseriet serves light meals, main courses and desserts.

Stall Verdens Ende and Den lille dyreparken

The small animal park is located at Stall Verdens Ende just next to the parking lot and is open every day from 24 June to 27 August. Free entrance. Here are various animal species like rabbits, pigs, sheep, chickens and horses. Various activities from NOK 50 per person.

Stall Verdens Ende is open all year and offer horse riding for all age groups. Riding in these surroundings is for many a great experience!
